About BSA

The Norton BSA team has deep roots in credit assessment and credit management. Our experience in the credit industry guides the development of Norton’s software. We strongly believe that our products offer exceptional value to many industry participants, from credit analysts to accountants, fraud investigators and other financial professionals. Our industry is digitalising rapidly and we aim to keep our clients on the cutting edge.

Norton BSA’s current focus is on South African banks, but our team has developed the back-end abilities to venture into other countries rapidly. Currently BSA Norton’s software reads bank statements in digital CSV format. It is possible to read bank statements in digital PDF format, but more expensive because it needs to be converted to CSV first.

OCR readers are not yet able to read unstructured data in scanned PDF format and convert it to a digital format with 100% accuracy. A scanned document can be manipulated and carries an inherent risk of fraud. We are closely following new developments and once OCR readers can read and convert scanned PDF documents with 100% accuracy and identify attempts to manipulate data, we will add the ability to analyse bank statements in PDF.
